Payroll need to shout about their achievements

Payroll professionals need to shout out about their achievements to receive more recognition for their work, but how can they do this?

Last year, Reward Strategy published a feature about the need to speak up and self-promote the work of payroll.

Continuing this theme, we want to encourage more individuals in payroll, reward, HR, pensions and the associated sectors, to get involved with The Reward 300 2019, sponsored by Cintra HR & Payroll.

The recognition programme is an index of the industry’s most important influencers and decision-makers.

Carsten Staehr, chief executive of Cintra HR & Payroll, said The Reward 300 is a fantastic way to highlight the unsung heroes of the industry.

He added: "As a generally conservative industry, we need to use platforms such as The Reward 300 to help us understand the value that we all have to offer.

“It’s a fantastic reminder of our value and a way to celebrate our achievements. By providing exemplars for us to aspire to, we can draw on this index of ‘who is who’ in our industry to learn from and then apply this learning to create new achievements.

"When we truly value ourselves, we can shout about our achievements on behalf of ourselves and each other. Personally, I feel there is a lot to shout about!”

The Reward 300 is based on nominations from readers who provide a 150-word entry explaining why their chosen individual deserves to be in the index. Individuals are also welcome to nominate themselves.

Entries must show evidence that the individual has met at least one of the following criteria:

• Shown a level of influence in your organisation or profession;

• Demonstrated best practice;

• Been recognised for your work (through award programmes, not necessarily Reward Strategy’s);

• Helped to educate your peers, whether that be through content contributions, speaking at conferences or webinars, and so on;

• Advocated the promotion of your profession.

At Reward Strategy, we have launched something which could help individuals complete some of this criteria - proving they are helping to educate their peers.

Our Discussion Forum is up and running, so share your knowledge and opinions to help others learn and understand new legislation and issues.

Nominations close on March 11th and The Reward 300 will be announced at a gala dinner following the first day of the Payroll & Reward Conference 2019 on June 5.
