Hoodless will be speaking at the conference, taking place on December 5th at the Hilton London Bankside.

Reward Strategy (RS): What has been the story of your career so far?

Dianne Hoodless (DH): “I started working as a payroll administrator for Rover Group in the eighties and stayed with the organisation until 2017. I left my role as senior international payroll supervisor to become the payroll manager at Hyperion Insurance Services.”

RS: What do you think has been the most visible change to the payroll and HR profession in the last year?

DH: “Technology. When I started work one of my main tasks was collecting and opening the post, now everything is done by email. We are far more reliant on having responses and information at a press of a button and a system doing the work for us.”

RS: What do you think are currently and will be the biggest trials facing global payroll professionals?
DH:
“Right now Brexit as it is an unknown, but generally the amount of movement between countries and what global business are doing, then ensuring we capture it and remain compliant.”

RS: What is going to be the biggest area of investment for your payroll function in the next 12 months?

DH: “Hyperion is intending to double in size, so we will need to start thinking of new processes, ways of working and a review of the current payroll systems.”

RS: Without giving too much away, what will delegates learn from your session?

DH: “We have some great subject matter experts, who will share their skills and experiences on all things global, in my session - so come along and learn.”

RS: What other sessions are you looking forward to at this year’s Autumn Update?

DH: “I enjoy learning, so any of the sessions around updates and challenges grab my attention. You are never too old to learn.”

The Rewards, sponsored by Cintra HR & Payroll Services, FMP Global and The Payroll Centre, take place the evening of the Autumn Update.
