How Selenity innovated expenses technology

Cloud-based technology provider Selenity offers an expenses solution covering the entire process of claims management between an organisation and its employees. It takes the whole process of recording, submitting, approving and paying expenses and turns it into a digital one.


Online or with the mobile app, employees can scan receipts using OCR technology to automatically populate their expense claims and capture mileage with GPS accuracy.

The solution also ensures compliance at every stage of the process, from looking after the complexities of tax, VAT, HMRC regulations and legislation, to a company’s own policy which can be configured during implementation.


However, the element that swung the win for Selenity was the introduction of its driver compliance pack. This offering, integrated with its existing expenses solution, provides automatic checks with data sourced from the DVLA and DVSA.


It provides a way to manage the collection of driver and vehicle documentation, as well as alleviate finance teams with automated driving licence, vehicle tax, and MOT checking, along with specialist insurance validation services.


Organisations can ensure full compliance with business travel duty of care obligations, restricting the payment of mileage claims until records are in place.


The solution also utilises route and mileage software which delivers accurate mileage calculations and real-time mileage validation.
