A new research project has been launched to better understand how UK payrollers use technology, and what could help if it doesn’t already exist.
Technology has removed the burden of repetitive jobs and manual processes and is now focussed toward solutions for automating, integrating and digitising functions - such as payroll.
But, why is it that so many processes are now automated and can be easily carried out on our daily commute, yet the full cycle of back end payroll operations cannot?
In 2018, a Deloitte survey found 43 percent of professionals, who lead or are directly involved with the payroll function globally, were either already using some form of process automation for payroll, planning to implement one or evaluating moving to the cloud.
What has happened to these individuals who were thinking about implementing such a big change? Are they facing difficulty persuading higher management to agree to a new way of working?
This is what we, Ceridian and Reward Strategy, want to know. We have launched a survey to find out if you are using technology, how is it helping; and if not, why not?
If you would like to help inform us of your use of technology in payroll, in a bid to figure out what more is needed - and for doing so gain a free £5 Costa voucher, a survey can be found here.
The Payroll Technology Survey 2019 will run until the end of April. The findings will be revealed at the Payroll & Reward Conference, headline sponsored by Western Union Business Solutions, on June 5th and 6th in London.
