We have two Student Loan threshold for 2018-19 with the annual thresholds as follows: Plan 1 £18,330; Plan 2 £25,000. That much is clear and whether someone is eligible to repay their student loan depends on these annual thresholds.

At present, there is no statutory entitement in the Employment Rights Act 1996 and the Employment Rights Order 1996 in Northern Ireland to leave or pay when a parent/parents suffer the death of a child. However, employers and employees need to be aware of the statutory enmtitlement to “time off for dependants” that is contained in the 1996 Act and Order. This would include the death of a dependant, though this statutory entitlement is to leave only.
On 13 September 2017, HMRC published their booklet 480 for the 2017-18 tax year. The booklet is HMRC’s interpretation of the tax legislation as it relates to expenses and benefits and is, essentially, a payroll professional’s ‘Bible’ of expenses and benefits processing. It includes the long-awaited guidance on how to deal with provision under OpRA (Optional Remuneration Arrangements).
On 7 September 2017, the Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) was launched by the minister for training and employability, Jamie Hepburn MSP. This has been established as a result of a December 2016 Scottish government responses document that outlined employer views on the Apprencticeship Levy funding that will be attributed.
