Biography

Karen has worked in the payroll, HR and pensions industry for more than 30 years. During this time Karen has worked in the local government, not for profit (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals – Associate Director of Policy) and the private sector. Karen was one of the first women to be become a Payroll Partner within an accountancy firm in her role as Head of Payroll Services and People with Armstrong Watson. Karen is now part of the leadership team at the award-winning, AAB tech enabled business critical service group, to help support their clients to achieve their goals and to support colleagues. Karen is also involved with government consultation forums, namely HMRC’s Admin Burdens Advisory Board and HMRC’s Employment and Payroll Group. Karen also represents deferred pension members on the Cumbria Local Government Pensions Board.
