I’ve been a reward professional for 20 years. I love what a difference a total reward strategy can make to an organisation when implemented correctly. I started my HR career after dabbling in Marketing and Sales (which I wasn't that great at!); I moved into HR in a generalist role at Fox's Biscuits (part of Northern Foods). I really enjoyed the variety, but particularly enjoyed the pay and benefit elements. I later went on to become the Reward & Policy Advisor, moving to the Compensation Manager, and then ultimately Head of Reward when Northern Foods was taken over by 2 Sisters Food Group.
In 2013 I moved to MAG (Airports Group) as Reward Business Partner, later being promoted to Head of Reward. This was a great role and I had lots of successes in this role, including the launch of an award winning recognition scheme.
In 2019 I moved to Cox Automotive and had some great experiences whilst being there. My role was extremely varied, looking after a broader remit including the European HR Service Centre, the Global Employment Office (GEO), and also heavy involvement in the scoping out of Workday. This role gave me the International experience that I sought.
After just over 5 years with Cox, i've recently moved roles and am now heading up Reward & Pensions at Yorkshire Water. This is another great company, and we have a really great agenda planned to modernise total rewards and make this meaningful to all our colleagues. I'm excited to take on this new challenge.
